Hi, I’m Natalia, and this is how I found myself in Costa Rica.

In a material sense, I grew up very privileged, but I also felt a deep loneliness. We didn’t talk about feelings in my family; there was no physical affection and there was no emotional warmth. On the outside, I had it all; but on the inside, I had a big hole in my heart.

I coped with this feeling in 2 ways. I ignored it by staying busy, achieving, being extremely independent, always smiling and being ‘nice’. The other way was by trying to control it with bulimia, alcohol and a brutal inner critic.

On the verge of utter self-destruction, and in a very Eat Pray Love kind of way, I quit my corporate job and went to live in an ashram in India at the age of 22.

There, I meditated, drank green juice, did yoga, and attended spiritual talks, ayurvedic classes and chakra healing workshops. I healed my body, gained mental strength and connected with my intuition.

As I built momentum for my physical health and practiced all the self-care rituals I learned in India, I realized the hole in my heart wasn’t going away. I struggled with boundaries, people-pleasing, insecurity, feelings of worthlessness, and a Mother Wound that catalyzed those patterns. I had learned how to nourish my body, but not my heart.

I tackled healing these patterns like it was more than a JOB — it was my MISSION, investing every penny into learning energy psychology, bodywork and ancestral healing. I attended family constellations, breathwork and trauma-healing retreats, sat in women’s circles & sacred ceremonies, attended inner child immersions and worked in the akashic records.

As I healed, I resigned from the role of emotional caretaker for my family, which lead to them eventually leaving and triggering the heart void I’d worked so hard to heal. My nervous system went into shut down. I became numb, started holding my breath a lot and started to have anxiety attacks in public spaces.

I continued to attend healing workshops and talk therapy, but nothing was landing in my body. I felt numb (and Canadian winters didn’t help).

So I decided to go to Costa Rica to take a break.

There, Nature nurtured me and I leaned into Her for safety. Being held by Her gave me permission to create space for the dense jungle of feelings, sensations and discomfort that lived in my body-the space I never had growing up. She gave me support and held the space while I learned to reconnect to myself.

I turned to the ocean to rock me, the waterfalls to cleanse my mind, the volcanoes to give me strength and the jungle to nourish my soul.

When I returned to Toronto, I continued to reconnect with my body. I dove deep into learning about trauma and how it affects the nervous system and eventually decided to train as a somatic movement therapist.

Nature continued to play a major role in this reconnection.

I would hug trees after emotional releases to feel soothed, I would lie down on the earth to feel grounded, I would get into rivers and lakes to feel held and I would walk in forests to reconnect with the life force in my lungs.

Nature helped me thaw out the numbness in my body.

I made multiple trips to Costa Rica over the next eight years and I began to work for various retreat centres as a holistic practitioner. I held space for people who came to the country to take a break from the daily grind-to slow down, find peace, heal, regulate their nervous system, reconnect to themselves and experience deeper connection to others.

Eventually I moved there - Guanacaste is now my home base.

My journey has taught me that there is a place beyond self-care (which has become another item on our to do list). That place is self-nourishment. It requires presence, a deep connection to the body and the willingness to be with, to hear, to hold, to respond to what’s alive in the moment. I call this embodied nurture.

I use the nourishing containers of nature and human connection to create spaces of rest, self-reconnection, transformation and healing.

My healing journey continues, and to be honest, I don’t think that will ever change. I believe that healing is about making and holding space. I’ve committed to becoming the kindest space holder I can be for whatever is alive in my being — the magic, the mess and the mystery.

And that is what I want for you.

I facilitate healing embodied experiences and hold space for individuals, groups, and retreat participants who want to:

  • Soothe anxiety and find a sense of calm

  • Change their relationship with receiving and welcome new levels of support

  • Feel nourished from the inside out

  • Disconnect from ‘do’ and reconnect to ‘just be’

  • Create space within themselves to hear their inner guidance

  • Cultivate inner comfort and safety

  • Feel lighter in their heart

  • Feel more connected to themselves and their feelings

  • Heal the ‘alone and independent’ wound

  • Savour beauty and feel more pleasure

  • Feel more centered and grounded

  • Gain clarity

  • Feel more authentic in their relationships and connect to others with more ease

  • Ritual-eyes new endings, beginnings and life transitions

….while being held and supported by diverse healing modalities, the elements and Nature.

So you can re-enter your life nourished, clear-minded, inspired, present, more trusting, secure and more connected to the core of who you are.

  • I’m a Pisces Moon, Cancer Rising, Taurus Sun.

  • I’ll take Bollywood over Hollywood any day.

  • I spend ridiculous amounts of time at farmer’s markets.

  • I’ve had 1 sip of coffee in my life, but I’m very good friends with tea.

  • Water is home. I ground myself in it and need to be near it.
